Another new protein find
I found a new protein bar at Sam's Club. It is called Premier nutrition protein, high protein bar. It is a 15 pack for $14. It has 3 flavors in the box...double chocolate, yogurt peanut, chocolate peanut butter.
For me, they are too large to eat at one time. They are 2.5 oz which is about 50% more than the Pure protein bars. The nutrition varies on each bar but the 1st bar is:
Calories-280 (I know this is a little high but again its huge)
fat-7
sugar-8
protein -30
283/274/162
highest/surgery/current
Examples:
Banana cream (use vanilla)
Cheesecake( use vanilla)
Chocolate(use chocolate or chocolate mint)
I place the mixture in 4oz cups and eat as a snack daily
Each 4 oz cups equals:
25 calories
3g carbs
0g sugar
30g protein
0g fat
I found that I liked the Adkins protein bars, chocolate chip granola. They worked well nutrition wise & I could get them at several places (walmart, target, 7-11, vitamin shoppe, etc) Here is a pudding recipe that was given to me. Never tried it but heard it is good.
1 box sugar free jello chocolate fudge pudding (can substitute any sugar free pudding flavor)
2 ½ (or 3) C. fat free milk
4 scoops Unjury unflavored protein powder
4 Ziploc disposable round containers w/ lids (1 cup size)
Put pudding, milk and Unjury in blender. Mix well. Immediately pour even portions into the 4 containers. Cover. Freeze. Pull out of freezer. Let sit for about an hour and enjoy!
