I'M BACK

Hello everyone. I have been absent for awhile and Ann's post has brought me back from just lurking.  I have been so caught up in my life that I made the decision to stay off here due to my past obsession with this website.
So whats been new with me?

My husband has been unemployed since Feb 13th  and is only receiving short-term disability. He recently(last friday) had surgery on his shoulder and will be out of work for 4-6months. This puts a major financial strain on us as he is the only person working.  I haven't worked since 2005 and getting a job at this time with the economy has been long and rough. I did have an interview today and I think I might have the position which will help out some but it doesn't pay much. Don't get me wrong I am not complaining as a job is better than not having one.
As for my Post-Op.... I am once again sitting still with my weightloss and it doesn't bother me anymore. I know the scale will move again at some point and that's a good thing. I know I'm not getting in my recommended amount of protein or water so that could be the reason. I have been exercising regularly and can feel my clothes loosening up so its all good!!
I will make it a point to get on here at least 2x a week and check on everyone.

Congrats to all the newbies and post-op's and their weighloss

You'd be amazed, but get tha****er back up. (protein, too!) I have recently GAINED (BOO!) about ten pounds, and ALL I did was up my water, and already 2 have come back off.

It could also be that your body is taking a break, especially if you're still losing inches. OR, you could be replacing fat with muscle, which weighs more. So not to worry. :)

Best of luck to you in your job search. I know it is rough. A friend of mine has been looking for what seems like a year, and my boyfriend himself was laid off from his job at the end of February. Luckily for us, he and a friend of his run a TV production company that covers local high school sports, and he's still doing that (though I just got a text that tonights game was cancelled, which sucks).

I hope everything works out for you!

The tough part of WLS is not the first year, it's those that follow.

Melanie, welcome home, Sweetie!!!  I'm soooo happy to see you!!

I am very sorry to hear of your tough times.  I have all my fingers & toes crossed that you get this job, or one even better, if that is your heart's desire.  And I also wish hubby a speedy recovery.

Since you already know that you aren't getting in enough protein or water, then it would seem those two places would be a good place to concentrate on.

I think it would be wonderful if you could come here 2x a week.  We NEED you, Melanie.  We need your help & we need to keep in touch so we don't worry about you.  But we also don't want you to become obsessed either..lol.  And that's easy to do here.  So good for you for setting limits without eliminating us all together.  A little bit of your presence is better than none at all!!

Hugs!
Ann

I'm so sorry to hear about your husband's disability and surgery.  Best wishes for a quick recovery for him.  Good luck with the job interview!

Keeping up with the protein and water are things I have been struggling with myself the last couple of months.  I have made a promise to myself to change that because I know how very important both are not only to our weight loss, but our overall health.  We have to remember to take care of ourselves, especially in times of stress...please do that for you and your family!

Keep positive sweetie. Hope things come together on the job. You'll get through all this and stalls are quite normal for us all. We just hit them at all different points in our journeys.

Hugs....
