I cant eat and when I d o..... it comes out like water and HURTS LIKE HE CK...........  I am such an emotional eater to begin with......   I recently went on zoloft and things started to feel better and 3 yras ago lost 2 dogs after 15 yrs..... never thought i would have the strength/courage to get another.....

i had to leave work because I was running to the ladies room every 5 minutes and folks were making comments about the odor (anyone suffer from this at work ever?????) it is BEYOND embarrasing............  I even have these things called "the drops" but they smell worse then the other...

anywa.....  just keep me in your thoughts.  I jknow a lot of you have far worse issues out there.... but I am struggling and I just feel so hopeless..... and sad.

I'm sorry to hear that you lost your dogs... my father lost his best friend in 2003 and was so distraught about it that he immediately went out and got another. I wasn't totally on board with that, but Sadie is like his kid now, so it worked out.

I have suffered a similar fate... if I've eaten too much sugar (especially hidden sugars that don't make me dump), I have the WORST gas. My body thinks it's funny if it gets really bad at about the time I get to work. Since I work in a semi-cubicle (desk with walls?), no one can really pinpoint where the smell is coming from, but I have smelled a strong dose of perfume after letting a couple go, and a lot of comments. It's embarassing, but there isn't anything I can do about it once it's done. I figure if someone wants to complain about it or about me, I can always play the WLS card. People take sympathy on you for whatever strange reason (at least they have here) when you tell them you've had surgery, even if that surgery has done nothing but good (well, except the gas part! It's a good thing my boyfriend loves fart jokes!).

Best of luck to you. Things have a way of getting better.

The tough part of WLS is not the first year, it's those that follow.

Jill...

Your sadness and issues are JUST as important as everyone else's.  Don't diminish your feelings.  To lose 2 dogs is just heartwrenching...and then to open up your heart to a new animal is so tough!  But, to have that animal go missing must really be beyond stressful and bringing back so many sad memories for you.
I am so sorry you're dealing with this.  No wonder your tummy is such a wreck.  I don't know if Immodium would help but, it's sure worth a shot.  I don't live in your area but, I will be thinking good thoughts and praying for that sweet little pup to come home.

Ah, Jill...I'm sorry that you're feeling sad.  I had a similar thing happen to me too, many years ago.  We adopted a dalmation from a rescue league at Petsmart...spent a small fortune on toys, collar, etc., brought her home & the moment she had the chance, she darted out past me at the door.  I combed the streets for hours, thinking I'd never see her again.  Eventually she some how found her way home.  I am soooo hoping that your dal will do the same.  Oh...wait...3?  3 what?  Months?  I would assume you have alerted the local animal control, SPCA, & shelter, yes?  I really hope you can get him back.

As for your physical problems, I'm afraid I can't expound on them because we have different wls.  But it seems like you've gotten some good advice.

And finally, great minds think alike (Lisa!!).  You are entitled to your feelings, even if they are sad ones.  Thank you for coming here & trusting us with your feelings.  And now I hope that you get to feeling better soon & that you find your pup.

Hugs!
Ann

I am so sorry to hear about your puppy.  Have you checked with the SPCA or the county/city to see if he was located?  I wish you the best in locating him!  I know what you mean about being so sad -- one of my goldens died a week after my Dad -- very suddenly -- and it tore me up.  These pets of ours really take a big piece of our hearts, don't they?

The gas and other gastro problems could be a result of new meds and/or stress.  If it keeps up, you may want to check with your surgeon and/or PCP.  One of them may be able to give you some ideas of how to put a stop to it.

Please let us know how you are doing and about your puppy....you are both in my thoughts.

Oh dear!  I'm hoping for the pup to find his way home and you get some relief from the tummy ache.  I have no suggestions on the odor.  Just know that UNCLASSY people would say something.  Smile pretty and say "I never did mind the little things".  :)  Those people just suck.  Period.

Jill, keeping you in my thoughts & prayers.  The zoloft could be affecting your body also.  Try to eat binding foods like cheese, whole wheat toast, applesauce & bananas to see if you can firm it up.  Hope you feel better soon.
