BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND! What Are YOU Doing To Move Today???

Let me start off by saying that I felt the love.  Thank you so much for all of your kind words and support.  I am blessed - thank you!  You say that I am an inspiration to you - that's funny, because I never feel inspiring.  But, as I sit here with tears in my eyes, I am in awe that you all feel what you do for me.  Thank you for making my Friday awesome!

Ok...enough of the mushy stuff.  It's time to get to work.  We only have 90 days left until the vacation season kicks off.  It's time to get moving towards an active summer of swimming, hiking, walking and just plain old living life.

So....what are YOU doing to move today????

Me?  Let's see...my calendar says that I am lifting heavy weights (15 - 25 pounds)  today along with 30 minutes on the ellipticle.  So, I guess that's what I will be doing.  Need to get in some good stretches, too, because my hip is talking to me today (I guess I did too much yesterday).

So, enjoy the weather today.....it's a great day to get out there and dust off the cobwebs.

I am planning on hitting the gym right after work, and walking 45 minutes on the treadmill and maybe 15 minutes on the bike.  I dont understand why i find the bike more difficult and according to the machines it burns less calories than the treadmill.... oh well, thats probably what i get for believing the dumb screens on this equipment.

That's GREAT!  I love going to the gym - I always feel stronger as soon as I walk through the doors.

NEVER belive those machines - they are liars.  No...really!  Instead, I always suggest that you get a heart rate monitor if you want to track your calorie expenditure.  That will be more accurate.

But...GREAT JOB!

I have a Polar and a Timex (cause I'm special - haha).  I prefer the one with a chest strap over a wrist type.  I think it's more accurate (and based on my findings, it is).

I think I paid about $80.00 at Dick's Sporting goods, but look for one that not only tells you heart rate but also tells you calories.

But, I also use mine for running in my zone - basically, making sure that I stay within my heart rate zone when I workout.  While I may end up slower, I finish.

Hey Tim!  Sounds like you are really active!  I also find the bike more challenging than the treadmill.  But I don't have access to a bike anymore, so the treadmill it is!  I suggest getting a heart monitor.  I got one last year after a suggestion from Jill.  I chose a moderately expensive model (maybe $125? can't remember) and have been very happy with it. I just love loading in my current weight and then looking at the stats after a work out.  It really makes me feel like I'm doing something and is far more accurate than any machine can be.   afterall it's monitoring YOUR heart!  :)

Welcome back!

I will be doing 30 minutes on the treadmill at 15 incline and then out for a night of dancing with the girls :)
