So I may be starting a new job soon and they offer these healthcare options:

Aetna HealthFund
Aetna Choice POS II
Aetna Choice POS II Plus
Aetna OOA
Aetna Select
Kaiser HMO

Does anyone have any of these that paid for their surgury?

I'd like to get the VSG but will consider others depending upon insurance.

Please tell me your stories with these health providers.

Thanks.

Jack, I wish I had first hand knowledge that would be helpful to you.  I got mine through BC/BS but because I had special health issues that required more pre-op stuff, it took me a year to convince Dr. Mo to take me on.  Then I discovered that our benefits had changed & I almost didn't get my surgery.  Thankfully I was smart enough to leave a paper trail that could prove that I'd been jumping through all the necessary hoops so they made an exception.

I hope you have an easier time than I did.  And I hope you much success in your new job!

Hugs!
Ann

****waving hello***  I just wanted to say welcome.  I'm sorry that I don't have a suggestion for the insurance possibilities.  My insurance was through United Healthcare for my surgery.  GOOD LUCK!

United Health Care is the best insurance company there is. Wish I had them now.

Here's the thing: it all depends on the specific plan your employer has put together. For example, I got my DS covered by Aetna HMO, but many employers do NOT include the WLS rider on their Aetna HMO plans. So you can't just say you'll get Aetna Select (for example) because you need to find out if WLS is covered by that employer's Aetna Select plan.

All Aetna plans cover the same procedures with the same requirements...IF the WLS rider is included in the policy. Aetna does not cover the VSG.
