Hi Kim,
Congratulations! No words of advice here as far as the work thing. As far as dietary concerns your surgeons office may have a protocol they want you  to follow.
I had lap RNY so no binder was necessary. If they don't  give you one try a tummy control panty, the ones with a diamond shape in the front.

Congrats!  I had open RNY and did not have a binder.  I took six weeks off from work then had two weeks of 1/2 days following.  I could have gone back sooner but at about 4 weeks out my energy depleted and I needed every minute of the time I had.  As for what to have post op,,,check with your surgeons office.  I had carnation instant breakfast (sf of course), sf popsicles, sf pudding and sf jello and skim milk.  It was all I could do to get the shakes in and did not use anything else at all until about a month out.

Best of luck to you. I would just recommend EAS protein shakes, sugar free popsicles and pudding, and refried beans. Please keep us posted. And ask any questions you may have.
