No time...No excuse

This was on something at work that I do every morning so I thought I would share:::

Do you have the time for regular exercise? If the answer is no, you’re not alone. However, not having time is not a good excuse and doesn’t justify inactivity. Even if you can’t fit in a workout, there are things you can do to increase your daily activity level. You can take the stairs rather than the elevator, park farther away from your destination, use restrooms on a different floor, walk in place when on the phone or use your breaks for movement instead of munching. These types of activities require no time outside of your daily routine but can make a big difference in the long run.

Good ideas Tam...but not for you...your tootsies are resting today, right?

My tootsies are resting every day till Claire arrives...docs orders.  But I do use the bathroom farther away cause the one closest to me is always nasty...so that counts, right???

Always good advice Tam.
I gained....Gasp...5 lbs and realized that I had been eating too may carbs and not keeping up with enough exercise. Acually I am quite pleased wiht my progress. I am 21 months post op and this is the first time I have really "fallen off the wagon". Warmer weather this weekend and the possibility of going dancing to see my friends band HOTCAKES will surely get me up and losing again.

5 lbs is not too bad...prepregnancy I fluctuated up and down 5 lbs often.  My doc says it is normal...even for non-wls people.  Dancing will certanitly help, being aware of what you eat and drinking more water are great!  You will be back where you want to in no time!  How's Leo?  Tell him Steve and I say hello!

Thanks for the post Tammy, I agree with the post. I use t o take the elevator if there was one instead of the stairs and now I look for the stairs . I park away from the front of the store and walk, I do leg lifts when I am sitting watching tv, when I do the dusting I use my dust mop and do a waltz around my house. So you see I keep my body moving as much as I can. I love to waltz now if only I could convince hubby to do it with me instead of the mop.
Keep those legs proped up my dear our little angel will be here bdfore you know it.
Love and Prayers being sent to you and your family,
Betty

I do most of these things, too on most days.  I also added leg weights (like I use before going skiing to get myself accustomed to the extra weight of the boots and ski's) when I am cleaning, too.  It helps to tone the legs!

Yet another good thread, Tammy, thanks!!  I'm actually rather pleased with myself.  Even as sick & puny & weak as I've been feeling these past couple of days, I STILL did some WiiFit.  I walked the running trail & did 6 ski jumps!  Granted, I slept for about 2 hours afterwards, but it worked to my benefit because I've dropped another 2 lbs.

I'm looking forward to my next trip to a store...I'm gonna walk it as long as I can before jumping on the electric card.  Who knows...maybe I won't NEED the cart anymore...AGAIN.

Hugs!
Ann
