Just wanted to let everyone know that things are going better.  Everyday feels better than the day before.  I gone completely off any pain meds or tylenol.  I think the pain meds were making me feel worse than the pain!  I am now just trying to find a protein I like.  I have taken to using ISOPURE and cutting it in half with water.  It will be interesting to experiment more with in once I'm on mushies.  The hardest part now is feeling like most of what I can have is sweet - sf popsicles or jello or pudding.   I didn't realize I was picky eater until I realize that most of the stuff on the list (broth, yogurt) I don't like or it doesn't appeal to me.  Oh Well - am getting in my fluids and getting close to my protein and that's the best I can do for now.

Thanks for everyone's support.  Hopefully I'll be up to participating more!

Michelle,

You are doing awesome!  Just do the best you can and you will get to the full required amounts before you know it.  Yep, I am a picky eater, too.  I knew I was before surgery but have found I am pickier than I thought.  Congrats on ditching the pain meds!

It sounds like you are doing all the right things focusing on your fluid and protein.  :)  I was and am still very sensitive to sweetness.  It's like my tastebuds got bigger after surgery.  Everything tastes super sweet.  It's just an adjustment.  :)

Michelle    Each day will get a bit better.  Keep sipping.    Darn pain meds will mess you up.   Better off without them if you can.     Liquid isopure orange mango, I found to be the most normal tasteing.      You will be on mushies before you know it.

Take care!
