I'm in NJ but want to let my buddy know that I'm SF

After 40 years of an active food addiction, I finally went into remission on 01-29-09.  I had posted on the Main Forum in desperation looking for a book about behavior modification.  A woman there who is a food addict in remission and a therapist suggested that I get the Beck's Diet Solution.  It is not a diet.  Rather it teaches you how to diet and how to think like a thin person.  The therapist mentioned that she uses it for indiviual and group counseling for food addictions. 

Well, I got my copy in the first week of Jan.  I haven't had any of my addictive foods and I've stopped grazing since 01-29-09.  I used to correspond with a man in VA who kayaks and bicycles a lot but he keeps changing his user name.  He'll know who I am.  I was always impressed because he went sugar and white flour free as soon as he had his RNY.  It's taken me a long time to get to that poin.  Wow!  It's both gratifying and a blessing.  I feel so grateful for this and I do thank God for this blessing.  I suggest that anyone else who is struggling with their post-op program go out and buy Beck's in either the hardcover or workbook.

I think the man you are speaking of is not currently active on here...but I will e mail him this post.  If it is who I think it is then I am good friends with him.  Congratulations on your success thus far...keep up the good work!
