the latest update

This is the latest update in my heart saga.

I was extremely impatient and couldn't wait so I called the cardiac thoracic surgeon's office that will be doing my surgery. I just wanted to see if my cardiologist had contacted them about me and what was going on, fully expecting to be told no, not yet. Well... My cardiologist, Dr Hawkins, had already called and met with the surgeon and they had reviewed the video of my heart TEE.

We scheduled my consultation for NEXT Tuesday. I can not believe that it is for so soon. I was shocked. Of course, being anxious, I got curious as to how soon they could schedule my surgery and asked if it was possible to have it done before the end of March and she was like "Oh it WILL be done by then". The surgeon leaves for vacation on March 10 for the rest of that week. She said that if they can fit me in before that then they definitely will but if not then as soon as he returns. Which means that my surgery could be as soon as next week.

Ok, now I am freaking. There are so many things to be done, to be finished. Cam is having his surgery on Wednesday, the SUV just got sick too and is in the mechanics shop and well... I just don't know that I'm mentally or emotionally prepared, much less physically ready. And then there is all the pre op stuff that I have to do, the physical by my PCP, blood work, ekg. So much to do, no time to do it in. I'm sure Xanax and Valium will be my best friend soon.

Just wanted to fill in those that have been asking. Thanks for all the prayers and remember me on Tuesday, when I go see the surgeon. Thanks so much for all the support!

Theresa, I'm so tickled for you that it's all coming together.  Lord knows you've lived with this stuff long enough.  And look at it this way....get it done now so that you will be recovered in time to enjoy the good weather that will be here soon.  It sucks to be hold up in the house recovering from surgery when it's a gorgeous day outside.

Your post is all good news & I thank you for sharing it with us.

Hugs!
Ann

Oh my goodness.  You must feel overwhelmed.  Things are progressing fast, try to take solace in that this will all be a good thing to get your heart fixed up and the sooner you get started the sooner you are to recovery and a healthy future!  I'm sending them up for you Theresa.  Stay strong!

Side note, I don't remember reading anything about a surgery for Cameron.  I hope that it is nothing serious and will be praying for him too.
