I was so upset today, I went to get my Pulmonary reading which was outstanding, however my sleep study was not able to be read because I did not go to sleep. Guess what? I have to take another sleep study, next week. I was so mad, I told him that I dont think that I have sleep apnea, however he was so set on the size of my tongue, he said it was large and under anestesia my brain will not tell me to wake up blah, blah, blah. I hated spending the night, so this time they want me to take a sleeping pill. This makes me so mad, he was like ok this is in order to have you on a c=pap or something like that. I just hate going to that place. It feels creepy, people are nice just creepy feeling to me. Sorry had to vent. This was not what I wanted to hear. I have enough on my plate with the thought of not being at home for maybe 1or 2 nights, now this.

Been there done that too.    ask for different types of masks.  Most companies just give you the big face mask.   There are smaller ones that just go over you nose.  g

Good luck.   Keep in mind that it is very important.  If you do have apnea its important.    Anestisist will need you to wear it during surgery.    It will help if you have problems during intebation.

I know you are upset to here that you have to do it again. But think about it. Your doctor CARES! That is huge. I had to take sleeping pills before mine as well. It really does help calm the nerves. I wish you the best of luck with it

I am having one on March 4th myself.  I will think of you.

Although, I must say they showed me the room where I will sleep and it seems very nice, like an upscale hotel.  I can't complain.  It will be a night away from my hubby's snoring.  Just kidding, I love sleeping with him. :)

I have had to have several of these as well...including an all day following the nightly study for an LAT test.  That absolutely stunk!  Take the sleeping pill and know that this is for you...it is what is in your best interest.  I'll be praying for you.

I truly sympathize with you. I had my first and second tests done at the Pulmonary Doctor in Woodbridge. I felt ill at ease too. I found I did need a CPAP and in all honesty, I feel so much better. Remember getting a better night's sleep helps you lose weight too. Since I had my original study, I've lost 80 pounds and just recently went to my local sleep center through MWH in Fredericksburg rather than Woodbridge. I was hoping since I had lost weight I could get off my CPAP, well the pressure was raised! Oh well!
The center here in Fred'burg is so much nicer then up in Woodbridge. Hope this helps.

Hang in there Ruby - we've all had to do these!  I was like you and felt I didn't need it either - but lo and behold I did and once I got my cpap and got used to it (a week or so) - I can't imagine sleeping without the ugly thing!  LOL so just think of this as another hurdle in your journey to a new and better you!  And, even if you don't have it - the dr's like to know that for your surgery and anesthesia!  So, it's all good!
