My son gave me the mail, and inside was my parking pass for all of my visits to the hospital, as well as for my stay in the hospital, at first I was like wow! Then I became a bit nerveous. My son said it will be ok, I called my husband and he could not talk, I put post on main board only to get no response. I have a lot going through my mind right now. I read how one lady is feeling a bit out of her mind, about pain etc... this is all getting to be a reality, with less than one month to go. I got on my knees and prayed for peace to surpass all understaning, will everyone here please pray for me also.

How exciting!!  Your parking pass has arrived!!  Have you decided what you're going to pack for your hospital stay yet?  Layed in a few meals in the freezer to tide the family over?  Got all your vitamins, supplements, clear liquids, etc. all ready?

Honey, don't focus on anything negative.  You worked hard to be blessed with this surgery.  It is going to change your world for the better, & you know this.  Why else would you jump through all the hoops?  Yes, I know one of our own hit a rough spot, but rather than let that scare you, READ all the responses to her post.  Educate yourself on the things that MIGHT happen.  Knowledge is power...you're only afraid of that which you don't know or understand.  That is why we should post here.  Even newbies are helpful, as we all continue on our journeys.  You remind us old timers of where we've been & also remind us to go back to the basics when we lose our way.  For the new ones, still approaching their surgery dates, you help them prepare for what's ahead.  But remember that each person's journey is different, based on the individul & that individual doctor's requirements.  Thousands have gone before you with so much success.  We are all making room for you on the loser's bench.

You can do this!!

Hugs!
Ann

rduck,  I think everyone gets nerveous when it comes to surgery , but we have a God who hears our prayers and He will give you the strength to under go this surgery. Fear has away of creeping in but we know that God is stronger than any fear we may have.  I will put you on my prayer list and pray that this spirit of fear leaves in the name of Jesus. The mention of his name (Jesus) and that old devil has to leave us alone. I strongly believe in whatsoever we ask in his name he will do according to his riches in glory.  I hold on to his nail scar hand and that whats' get me through the days. I strongly believe that God is doing a work here on this board for folks who have asked for prayer. So any time you feel like you need someone to pray for any needs just post and the prayers will go up before the Lord. I post for prayer alot even though I pray myself God say where two or three will gather in his name there he is in our mist.
Have a blessed day,
Tomygirl  Betty

To God be the glory,
Thank you so much, I do take prayer seriously and it is good to know that if we ask for prayer that we are really getting prayed for on this forum. I do believe and know that God is a healer, I maybe new to this board but I have been walking and trusting in the Lord since I was 12years old, thank you Jesus for saving me. This whole process has been so easy thus far. I started this journey in Dec 08, decided in Jan 09 that yes this is what I want to do, was approved in January have all of my pre testing almost done, got phone call hospital and surgery approved now in a few weeks March 17,2009 I will have a new birth in the spirit. I know that fear is not of God, but I was a bit nerveous.Thank you so much for adding me to your prayer list this really did warm my heart. I believe in being specific so call me by name.

You're going to do great!  Like Ann said - just have all of your preop prep stuff done to make your trip home that much more easier on you and the family!   Dr. Halmi is an excellent surgeon and I'd do it again without hesitation!   Hard to believe I'm going for my 6 wk post op on the 24th (Tuesday!) - I'm excited to weigh in!  Seems odd saying that out loud but I am!   Here if you need to bounce anything off of us Rduck!!   Big hugs and prayers coming your way.

I was very nevous too.  I am three weeks out and I remember that feeling like it was yesterday.  It is very normal.

This is an exciting time.  Congratulations on your parking pass.

Does anyone have suggestions on what to pack for the hospital stay?  I haven't really thought about that yet.  And suggestions on what to have on hand at home? My surgery is scheduled in 7 weeks so I have plenty of time but I suppose I should start thinking about all this now.
