I went back to work yesterday.......

Hi guys!

I went back to work yesterday  (RNY was 1/29) and it was actually pretty darn great.  I was worried that it would be too soon, but it went very well.  I work from an office in my home so I don't have the added stress of dressing up or commuting which I am sure made it a lot easier.  I expected to have to take a break or go slow back in but all is well.  I am on no travel for this week and next so I don't have to worry about getting on a plane. My only issue is that I have to remember to sip sip sip and eat.   I am going to figure out a way to get an alarm to remind me. Sitting straight up in a chair also hurts my incision and my back just a little.

Oh, and I walked a little over 2 miles yesterday.  It was a little hard and I cant wait to get my own stamina back.

You are doing great! I am so happy for you.

Hint- many cell phones let you set multiple alarms. I use mine for vitamins and when I need to do a tube feeding. Works great for me!

Hi Sharon & Jennifer!  I'm Ann...an old timer that goes MIA every now & then.  I'm sorry I wasn't here to greet you when you first arrived, but hey, better late than never, right? LOL

You both sound very enthused about being back at work.  Nothing like getting back to your normal routine to help along your healing process.  Just remember not to overdue too much.  You're still healing so be gentle.

Anyway, I just wanted to pop in & say hello.

Hugs!
Ann

Sorry I am late in responding to this...I have had issues!  Hope all is still going well at work and that it will continue to do so.  Just wanted to remind you that a lot of us post op have a period of "good energy levels" and then it decreases and we are tired all of the time.  This is normal...so be on the look out for it.  The no travel is great!  Take advantage of it while you can and congrats on the two miles.  I am so happy for you!
