Gas

This afternoon has been horrible.  I have been suffering with the worst bout of gas since surgery.  The only thing I did  different was had oatmeal for the first time today.  I ate it at 10am, and at about 2pm I started cramping up like no ones business.  I was to the point of crying and would be walking and then stop moving and just hunch over in pain for 5min until it passed.  I'm so upset about the whole thing.  Becuase I LOVED the oatmeal and it was so fulling and yummy, but if this is what happens to me, I don't know that I can deal with it.  I suppose i will try again next weekend and if i have the same result, the oatmeal will be nixed from the cupboard.  Sigh...  So much for trying new things.  This is exactly why I'm not adventurous.

I'm sorry to hear this... I've had bad intestional pains from food too .. and they are not fun...
Was it pre packaged? Or did you make it from scratch by using plain oats and  your own seasonings?

Also, are you sure it wasn't Cindys Chili ;-)

It was pre-packaged - the weight control/low sugar variety.

I get sick off of that kind every time!  I use the quick oats and add my own goodies.  I add cinnamon, sweetener (usually sweet and low) and make with milk.  I also add fresh fruit and granola or grape nuts for a crunch.

I did dissolve two gas strips but that didn't seem to affect it in any way.  I am feeling better as of late last evening.  Thankfully.

*Hugs* Oh, I know how that feels and I hope it resolved soon - but I know it wasn't soon enough! I have had many bouts of that sort of gas and been curled up on the bed holding my belly and just wishing it away. Sometimes it happened when I had too much of a dairy/fat/sugar combination, but maybe your body just wasn't used to the oatmeal. Was it a high fiber oatmeal? You are smart to try it again next weekend when you can be at home if you have any problem. Take care, babycakes.
