What the heck people?

Okay, so before surgery people were constantly at me about my weight. I heard the fat whispers from strangers. Family would just speak up straight to my face. Now that I've had surgery, I swear at least 4 people have asked me how the heck I got surgery when I'm so small. WTH? Pick one people. I'm either fat or small. LOL!  I keep explaining that I am more than 100 lbs. overweight and that I have co-morbidities but they still just look at me like I'm a nut. People are weird. Just my daily observation. :)

they are never happy it seems. My mom is now telling me I am getting too small. HELLO I weigh 295 lbs. No granted that is alot smaller than my 420 plus I was before. Still way more to go. I am not sure why they are like that.

LOL.  I can't say I ever ran into this problem.  But then that is probably relative to my starting weight.  Everyone and myself agreed I was big as a damn house.  LOL.

You can't win 'em all.  Thicken up your skin becuase people will make judgements about your choice all the time.  And I have found that people DO NOT have a problem telling you.  I don't know what it is about weight, weight gain or weight loss but in my experience people are very forthcoming.

For instance, my Aunt has a nasty habit of including little "have nots" in your birthday card, christmas card, or a note card just saying hello.  For years and years I got articles folded up and stuffed into my cards on obesity, health, exercise, etc.  At least this year for my birthday I got an article on anger and stress for a change.  LOL.  I wonder what the hell she's trying to say?  HA HA  ;)

Yep, you probably will be subjected to a lot of unwanted comments.  A lot of it I have found is jealousy from your looking better than ever.  Don't let them get you down and enjoy this ride...it is the ride of your lifetime!

I get that all the time. On the day of surgery, the nurse even said I did not look big enough to have surgery. That was a confusing moment. (talk about second guessing the surgery then). I still get that when I show someone a before picture.

I like to think that people are trying to be polite when they say that. Maybe its there way of complimenting us.
