I am here and Still losing
Hey everyone!
Sorry its been so long since i have posted on the site. I am still going to the support groups at PNH. Anyone going to the one next week? I am still losing weight. My 3 month check up is on friday so I will update my profile as well as put up new pictures. I havent been going to the gym much at all because I am so busy with school and my independent research. By the end of the day I so tired. I did promise myself that I would not use an elevator unless its above 5 floors. It seems to be working well for me.
As for food.. I am still unable to eat any meat. Just doesnt taste or feel right to me anymore. The things that seem to be settling well are snack packs with cheese and crackers, soups, string cheese, v8, and water down juices. Everything else is questionable. Any Advice?
Also I am still looking for a workout partner at planet fitness in virginia beach. So if you are interested let me know.. Evenings are the best,....
So what has happened with everyone these past 3 months??

Katherine,
Welcome back! I have been wondering about you. Congrats on the 3 months and I look forward to your update. You don't have to go to the gym to work out. Park your car fatrher away and walk, take the stairs (excellent choice!), walk at lunch, do squats and lunges, do leg lifts while at the computer...there are all sorts of things to do. Sporty Jill may have some better suggesstions. As for the eating...I have a lot of days even now that I can not eat meat. Beef and steak work best for me and chicken and pork are rarely cooked correctly for me to eat so I avoid them whenever possible. I also have my beef and steak cooked medium rare to help me. Anything more well done than that and I can not even chew it! I caution you to be careful on the cheese and cracher packs. There are a lot of carbs and fat in there as well as with the juice having a lot of sugar in it. The carbs are not so much of an issie for you at the moment but farther out they become harder to deal with. I advise you to try extremely thinly sliced lunchmeat wrapped in a roll with some cheese. My favs are turkey and swiss with a touch of mayo. I use the cheese as my bread and have a sandwich. I get it as close to shaved as they can do it without actually shaving it. Even when other meats do not work this seems to sit well with me. Soups are good but be careful with consuming the liquids with the goodies. You will wash out the nutrients and not absorb anything and begin to get hungry sooner. This is like eating and drinking at the same time essentially. String cheese is awesome! I have it daily. I also love oatmeal (I make it with skim milk versus water and add granola or fruit to it for substance) and yogurt as well. I do cottage cheese from time to time. These are great sources of protein and can be really filling. V-8 juice is great but I can not do it. I do like the splash versions. I add those to my protein smoothies at times. Hope some of this helps!

Hi Katherine,
I am 11 months out and I still can't eat meat of any kind. I eat just about what you are eating. I go for my 12 month check-up on Feb.13. I have lost the weight that I feel is comfortable for me and I am sure the dr. will be pleased. My BMI is around 22 now. I don't have any advice for you just eat what you feel comfortable with , and that agrees with your pouch, and what your dr. says.
I"ll let you know what my dr. says when I go for my 1 year check-up
