Christy,
I agree with Tammy. Your Doctor has such a different program for you. Even with our doctors being in the same office it is so different. Like mine has always said 40 protien, 40 water and that works for me. I have a hard time getting 40 in on protein. I have to have a shake a day just to do that.
Let me know what you find out.
Thanks
Christine

Christy,
Don't know if this will help, but I was told never eat anything that more than 1/3 or more of the calories come from fat. If it is above that, it will probably make me dump or otherwise feel bad. And our bodies, being the adaptive devices they are, the more we fudge, the more the body adjusts to what we put in and eventually it will accommodate us,...even if it means gaining weight. So I just don't usually go there.
As I have focused on the nut guidance (protein and water intake first and foremost) the calorie count for ther day tends to take care of itself. That being said, my RNY program stated the standard regime of recommended eating/drinking looked something like:
400 calories a day during the first 2-3 weeks, phase I on liquids
600-800 calories a day during the soft foods 2-3 weeks on phase II
800-1200 on the entry level to meats phase III
After the phase III 2-3 week period, it was do what works and play by the new wisodm learned during the previous 6-12 weeks.
I had gotten up to 2000 calories with protein and carbs and stuff when I was running and training for 10Ks and such. After my city council campaign for local office this past Nov and a recent hip injury Thanksgiving weekend, I haven't been able to run now over the past 4 months. After gaining 30 lbs because I didn't adjust my eating and being 2 yrs 4 mnths post-op (dumping and barfing doesn't happen like it use to during the magic first 18 months) I have had to cut my intake back to 1200 calories a day or less to lose weight without the running.
Hope that helps,
Joe
