What Are YOU Doing To Move Today???
Good Morning....
Another new day filled with new opportunities to be physically active.
Many people think that because we have had the surgery that our weightloss efforts end. That we will automatically lose weight and keep it off, simply because we eat less. Well, let me tell you....that is not entirely true. You might lose your weight, but maintainence will be a challenge.
So, if you are newly post-op, heck...pre-op, or an old timer like some of us, know that it is never too late to start being active, and the benefits you will get from it will be astounding. Can't guarentee that you will look like your favorite actor or actress, but you will be healthy.
The latest from the American College of Sports Medicine says that we should be striving to do 30 minutes of moderate intense (enough to break a sweat) activity five days a week, plus total-body strength training two days a week. This is to achieve minimal health gains. If you want to lose weight, increase your cardio to 1 hour, five days a week.
So...what is moderate intense activity? Again, anything that gets your heart rate up enough to break a sweat. That could be biking, dancing, running, walking, swimming, hiking, yoga, ...you name it. BUT...find something that you enjoy doing.
So...what are YOU doing to move today???
Me? Let's see...calendar shows cardio my choice and yoda dvd (staying out of the gym today), so I will either do a quick run ont he treadmill or do a kickboxing dvd and them yoga. Need the yoga today - pushed a little too hard in the gym last night and I feel it this morning.
Enjoy your day!!!

So I run like a Girl....now keep up!
I am finally feeling somewhat better...although not 100% yet. I walked 30 minutes on the treadmill and since I had insomnia last night...I did my yoga dvd at 2 AM! I feel fabulous this morning. Going to try and walk some at lunch if I can.
