Daily Inspiration - Create a supportive community to meet your needs

Create a supportive community to meet your needs.

Many WLS patients long for support, but live in an area that lacks resources. If you are in that situation, consider starting your own support group.

Another great reason to start a support group is if your own group is toxic. In other words, if your group is not solution focused, with lots of people working hard to succeed, you might consider starting a group of your own that will meet your needs.

Action for the day: If you don't have a healthy group available to you, research how to create a community of caring and supportive people to help you reach your goals.

I'm working to strengthen my support system. As for starting my own, I'm not yet at a point where I feel I could truly do it justice. :)

Amen to this...and even if you have a support group in your area make sure it is right for you.  The ones here close to me are geared more toward newly post op...not almost 4 years post op.  I find my support wherever I can...and am working on a few other things!
