Welcome to the VA Board! Have you checked to see what your surgeon's office provides in the way of support group(s)? In addition, I think Christina R might be of some help. I hope she sees this. I'm going to send her a note. She's up in NOVA as well. Please let us know what questions/concerns you might have and we'll certainly try to help. Ann S has had LapBand surgery as well as a few others.

Hi, Lisa! I'm in Woodbridge, so right next to Manassas! I'm not getting a Lap Band, though; I'm getting the Duodenal Switch. I am still pre-op, too, and hoping to get a surgery date any day now.
I believe Sally, the nutritionist for Dr. Anez's office, holds a monthly support group meeting for Lap Banders. I know her gastric bypass group in Chantilly is open to patients of any surgeon, but I'm not sure if the same is true of her Band group. You can PM me if you'd like her email address.
