What Are YOU Doing To Move Today???

What happened to our snow??? i am SO disappointed that we did not have a snow day yesterday. I was so looking forward to romping in the snow with the fur-babies. They've never seen snow. Oh well.....
Looks like today is going to be chilly, but a bright and sunny day. Great for getting out and doing a quick trot around the neighborhood. Or, if cold isn't your thing...stay in a pop in an exercise dvd.
One thing that I notice is that we often get really focused on cardio exercise. I think it's because we have this mindset that if we're not out running, huffing and puffing then we aren't exercising (and for many, then why bother). Well, let me tell you that you need to add strength training into your program. Building muscles is equally important in the battle of the bulge and for many a much better fitness option.
So, when thinking about what you are going to do each day, don't forget to include strength training. Building muscle will help you "burn" for a longer period of time, plus it's a great way for women to keep their bone for a longer period of time. Plus, it just makes you look great, because muscle takes up less space than fat does.

Me? Let's see...the calendar shows cardio and weights. So, I'll be heading to the gym today for a quick few miles on the treadmill and then 30 minutes of weights in the circuit center.
