Tammy, You are way more generous than I would be. I would have just cut her out of my life like I have done with my own mother - for Connor...... he does not need her negativity and cruelty in his life and I will just not subject him to it. I had a very bad and hard childhood - he can be spared that. And even though I have not talked with her for a few years, she still never bothers to make any contact with him and some of her other grandchildren - she has her favorites and the rest can go to hell, in her eyes.....

So you are way more generous than I would be - she has had chance upon chance - there really is no excuse for the type of behavior she has displayed towards Kara - it is sheer ignorance and nastiness on her part.

But she will probably not answer you, and I am sure even if she does, it will show how evil she really is. You are better off without her..... let her wallow in her own selfishness....

Sorry this post is unlike me I know - but it brings up bad memories of my childhoold and how I want to bring Connor up..... I know you want the best for all your children - you are just way more kinder than most people...... you gave her an additional undeserved chance which she will screw up - but at least you know you tried.....

Honestly my body is tired of giving her chances but me heart wants her to have an opportunity at the least. I am almost positive she will blow this but at least I can know that I did everything in my power to attempt it. All I can do is try! I will let ya'll know how long before she blows it!

I am so glad that you followed your heart and wrote the letter. Now the decision will be her.
If she doesn't come then it will be her loss and how can anyone treat there children or grandchildren like she does is beyond me. You said she married a preacher, well where is the love for her family. I will pray for this woman, that she will truly know the meaning of love.
You are a very caring and loving person Tammy and I stand beside you all the way. You did what a Christian woman would have done so now let the decision be on her.

You always bring a smile to my face! I knew in my heart that I had to let her make the final decision but honestly I do not think I can give her any more chances after this one. I pray she makes the right choice...for everyones sake. The ball is in her court and Steve has shown that his loyalty lies with me and Kara and now Claire...NOT her, no matter what kind of tricks she wants to pull. Miss you much...gotta plan a trip to Williamsburg soon to go shopping at the outlets and have lunch or dinner with you! Love you much!

Honestly I don't think it will. Steve has talked to her until he is blue in the face and she just thinks I am controlling him and that he can not or will not ever feel that way about her. Background....she walked out and left him and his brothers with their father and when he passed his older brother (23 at the time) and his grandmother (paternal) got joint custody because she was found unfit...and now she thinks she is mom of the year. I pray she changes but honestly I don't think she ever will. She is delusional but at least i know I did my part and offered the olive branch!

I totally feel for you.
I have a MIL that my husband had to talk to her and tell her to accept me and all that means all of me or she wasnt going to be in our lives. She has done a total turn around. My husband talking to her was the best thing and telling her that she no longer had control over him was the best thing. We also have a special needs child and the difference in the treatment he has been getting from both my MIL and my FIL is a total change. I believe that sometimes a person needs a real kick in the pants to get through to them and I pray that the letter does that for you.
