...where else should I look for Mother of the Groom gowns?  Mother of the Bride stole my dress!!  I'm so pissed!!  I sent Amanda a photo of the one I was gonna get, AND I told her that it was the one I wanted.  Well, she showed it to her mother & her mother bought it out from under me, then her mother sent me an email to tell me about it.  I realize this seems petty to some people, but considering the fact that I was excluded from the wedding gown shopping (everyone else was along, but I wasn't even asked), & now this.  What's next?  I can't sit with the family cuz I'm not his birth mother?????

I'm just not in a happy place right now, but I still need to find a dress.  When I do find it, I'm not showing it to either of them.  Mom might want to wear it to the rehearsal dinner or something.  Gee, I'm not bitter....much...huh???

I wish I could fit into the gown I chose for our virtual gala!!!

Hugs!
Ann

Ann, I am so sorry you are getting shunned with this.  Try to remember from the bride's point of view, it is so hard to please everyone & include everyone (my first wedding I was so swamped I kept forgetting about my stepmom), she is probably under a lot of pressure and it is so hard to tell mom NO!

As for dresses, there are so many places to try.
Dress Barn
Macy's
JC Penny's
Bridal Stores (several here in Manassas, one I know of in Warrenton)
there is a discount place in Potomac Mills (Group USA, I think) that has all kinds of dresses/gowns

Wish you the best in your dress hunt.

Ann I know you are pissed but remember  - no matter what you wear  - you will be better, more beautiful and much much classier than her mother!!

The others have given you great places to shop  -also Ann Taylors have some great Mother of The Bride dresses - I remember I went shopping with my MIL until we found her the perfect  dress  - you have no idea of the patience it took - I hate shopping!!!!!!!!!!!

So,m don't let then get to you - go get a better dress and show them all how classy you look - and remind everyone at the wedding that you were so glad you did not get that original dress as now you see how it looks when it is on someone..............  what a disaster averted ;-)))

Love ya!

Hello,

I was able to buy my dress (mother of the bride) at Dillards and it was on sale they did not have my size in the store so she ordered it online and it was cheaper and came straight to my house. It is worth the try

I like what Jackie said! You are one classy lady! You would look gorgeous if you showed up in a trash bag!

You could always buy the original dress and wear it to the rehersal dinner.  LOL  Loris

Ya'll are so wonderful & you made me feel better.  Thank you for that.  At the risk of tooting my own horn, I didn't say anything to the biatch other than "I'm sure it will look lovely on you."  I'm glad I didn't have to speak those words...I'd have probably choked on them...but that was my reply to her email.  I did make sure Amanda knows what they did, but asked her to not say anything to her mom.

I'm sure I'll find something nice between now & June 27th...& if I have anything to say about it, it will be several sizes smaller!  I've had my last discomfort food (brownies) tonight...tomorrow starts a new me.

Thanks again!!

Hugs!
Ann
