I'm moving out of state

Hello everyone,

Well after years of trying to move to Georgia we have started preparations for the move in May. I have been waiting for this to happen for a long time but now I'm kinda "on the fence: about it. To give you a little history : I havent allowed myself to get close to females for about 10yrs or so due to insecurities about how I looked (obese) and also I was afraid my ex-husband would leave me for someone smaller. Anyways because of all this I haven't had many friends actually I only have 1 female friend I trust. It's great to have her as a friend and knowing she and her family( 2 girls and husband) are leaving to go down to live in Ga too the same time as us. The issue now is I am scared to start over after having WLS and not having y'all anymore. I know I am always welcome on the VA Board but it won't be the same for me.  Anyways I want to meet each and every one of y'all before I leave so I am thinking of having a get-together in March but will talk about that as it gets closer. I just wanted to vent and know y'all are understanding.

Where abouts in GA? I have family in Covington, Newborn, Kennesaw & Atlanta. You DO have us & you might be living elsewhere but you are ALWAYS family here. I know it might not be the same for you but we are here. Folks move, life happens but the one key thing is communication. Let us know what you are thinking about March. (Even before) Hugs.

We are actually moving to Augusta,Ga.  We were undecided between Augusta and Savannah  but after much thought we made the best decision for us.

Far as i'm concerned, you had your surgery in VA, you are a VA board girl, you will always be welcome here! lys

Melanie, darling, you can't possibly believe that just because you will be living in GA that we would say, "Oh well, Melanie moved so we don't want her in our group anymore"....FAR FROM IT!!  You will always be our sister!! It just means you'll need to post that much more so you can tell us of your GA adventures so we can live vicariously through you...LOL!!  And what a great opportunity to change some of those old tapes.  You'll be in a new place with a new body & hopefully a new, good body image so you'll have a ton of girlfriends if that's what you want to do.  A gathering in March would be terrific...especially around March 8th...I haven't had anyone throw me a birthday party in years....LOL!!  Just kidding.  No worries, Sweetie....you're stuck with us!!

I am so excited for you!  Of course you will always be home when you come here...and you had better come here often!  We will miss you but understand.  And you could always have visitors.  We are planning a trip to Florida in June...we could meet for lunch or something on the way down if you are game.  We may end up flying (I pray we do!) but even then maybe you could come and meet us for a day or two.  We will work something out and you will not just disapear on us.  This is an exciting time for you.  Let me know about your March event...I am excited already!  I will be as big as a house...but I will be fine.  I am so very happy for you...you deserve this!

Congratulations to you for making the choice to move to Georgia. You are always one of us and hope that you will visit the VA Boards often.

I am so excited for you also,  like the others said you are a part of our family and moving to Ga. doesn't change that. I always said to my family in Pa. I might not be there in flesh but in spirit I will be there in Pa. 
Post and let us know how Ga. is  and always remember, your friends and family in Va. loves you and will be praying for you.

Thank you everyone!!  I went on the GA Board this morning and OMG!! They don't post much there.... It's like theres no love in Ga!!  I want to meet others in Augusta that had WLS but its like they dont exist on here. Oh well as long as I have y'all I can post on Va Board

I am excited for you. I know it will be good for you in the end. Moving is so scary to me. I always stay put. lol. You BETTER stay on the VA board. Now that is a demand. We would miss you too much if you didn't.
