Pooch Prayers?

Not wishing to put my pet on the same level as any of you, but my little Kibbles could use some prayers too.

She turned up missing this past Saturday afternoon.  We didn't find her until this morning, around lunch time.  She was trapped in a spring-loaded fox snare, all that time, exposed to the elements & cold weather for 2 nights!  It's only sheer luck that we happened to hear her bark  faintly.

Of course we took her to the vet ASAP.  She was terribly dehydrated & has lost 4 lbs.  An  x-ray didn't show any broken bones, but blood flow was cut off all that time to her foot so the next few days will tell us whether or not she will lose her foot or not.

Needless to say the whole family has had a couple of sleepless nights worrying about her.  Of course we searched & searched...even walked past where she was a couple of time, but she must have been too exhausted to cry out.  Thank God we found her when we did because she sure would not have survived yet another night, especially given the bad weather coming.

Anyway, lets all hope & pray that she doesn't lose her little foot.

Hugs!
Ann

Thank you all so much for your prayers. Miss Kibbles is doing pretty good so far.  We're keeping her in her crate for a few days & she's being catered to.  I think she's liking it a lot...lol.  The swelling had gone down some last night, but I noticed this evening that her whole leg is swollen, plus she hasn't had a bowel movement since we found her, so I think I'll be calling the vet in the morning.  In the meantime, it turns out my neighbor is the owner of the trap & now he's claiming that he checked all his traps, including the one that had Kibbles trapped, Sunday morning.  Ummmm......NO!  I don't think so.  According to the Animal Control Officer, he IS liable for her vet bills, but he's trying to wiggle out of it.  I guess I'll have to take him to court.  I hate to do that, but if he presses the issue & refuses to pay up, then I will.  I'll let ya'll know how she's doing in a day or two.

Again, thanks for the love, & you're all correct....our pets ARE family.

Hugs!
Ann
