Oprah and Carnie
Knowing that I will suffer with obesity the rest of my life (Nope, not overweight, but I have to deal with the mind portion and eating the right stuff) I was interested to hear her thoughts on why she thought she gained.
I must say.....her show yesterday was brutally honest. Much more honest than I would have thought and very insightful.
One of the things that she talked about was taking herself off of her own daily things to do list. How interesting.....That's where many of us trip up as well. Making everyone else important, and we aren't worthy enough to even make our own lists. The end result is that we lose our balance, and it is this balance that we need to be healthy.
She had Carnie Wilson on, and she looked FANTASTIC! She's lost about 50 pounds and feels that she finally understands....it's about balance....it's truely about loving yourself and making yourself a priority.
Oprah was a wonderful host to Carnie - I was really happy about that.
If you did not get a chance to see it....I recommend it. It was enlightening. I ended up taking notes to refer back to as I continue on my journey called, "Life".

Life could not get any better than this!
Sounds like a weekly series during the month of January.

If anyone sees it being repeated can they let us all know..... I think it will be a better balanced show than the last one she did about weight loss surgery............

It was definately intersing. Like I said....very honest. Nothing against WL surgery, just all about the fact that we really need to step back and ask ourselves what's missing that is pushing us towards our addiction (food).
Sounds like a weekly series during the month of January, and it was more balanced. There was NO discussion on the surgery vs a diet plan.
But, I think what I really liked about it is that after losing all of her weight, she got ****y. began to feel like she could eyeball her foods and that it would be easy to maintain, etc. Something that many in our positions allow to happen. And just like everyone else....it comes back if you don'****ch what's going on. We can have the same things happen to us.
Unfortunately, she is not ready, not will ever be ready, for the surgery which means that there will always be controversay around it. Look at it this way....we are a bunch of rebels! But, I at least give her props for having the guts to try it without the surgery in the public eye. Surgery or no surgery, she's in the same boat and THAT'S what needs to be discussed.
In my opinion, the only difference between us and people like her is the plan we chose.
It's like the contestants ont he Biggest Loser - they lose all of their weight, but if they don't make the changes they can gain it back....sound familiar????
