Happy New Year...or not (UPDATE)
Well, I decided that this year was going to be great...I was going to get over these stupid ulcers and lose the rest of my weight and get WELL...apparently, the best laid plans laugh at me.
Saturday morning, I woke up with a massive headache. Didn't think much of it, took a migraine pill and went back to bed. Two hours later, I woke up with a fever of 103 and aches from head to toe. Took some tylenol, drank a hot cup of tea, went back to bed. Woke up at 430pm with a fever of 104.3 (can we say oh ****!!) so, I hightailed it to the local ER thinking I had a nasty case of the flu.
No flu, no nothing...they decided they didn't know what it was and sent me home. Sunday I was worse...and it then dawned on me...yes, only then...that it could be my PICC line...so, I went to IFOH ER...where they gave me fluids, tylenol, pain meds and sent me on my way. When I get home at midnight...I have a message from the local ER telling me that my blood cultures from my PICC are already growing bacteria...
Sigh....so, guess what I get to do today? I get to call Dr. Mo, tell him that my PICC is infected, have him admit me for serious IV antibiotics, yank my current PICC and have a new one placed. As soon as I know when, what, etc. I will call Ann and have her update you all.
Joe--(JoeBear)...I would love it if you and Amy could stop by and visit with me...I will post or have Ann post as soon as I know something.

Hey everybody! I did, indeed, speak to our girl tonight & she most certainly has been admitted to Fair Oaks Hospital. It looks like she could be there for several days...can't fool around with PICC line infections...it could have been fatal. I won't go into much detail...t'would take too long...suffice to say sometimes the medical community is STUPID!!! Not Dr. Mo, of course...as soon as he was notified, he was on top of things. It was all the yahoos she had to endure in the ER.
Anyway, you know our girl...she keeps that gorgeous head up & pushes through adversity. As always, she welcomes phone calls & visits. If you'd like her # please PM or email me...you know the drill...lol.
