A Tragedy tunred into a WOW!!

If you know me, I am a complete klutz.  I was really careful when I was heavier because falling at 414lbs cause some serious injury and pain.  But I am not as careful as I used to be.  Damn energy.  I have a suken living room with one step and on NYE I was walking out of the living room and my foot got caught on my pants leg and on the floor I went.  Needless to say, I have several bruises now.

Well, this is what happened tonight.  I have a five month old puppy.  He is a shepard malamute mix.  He is hudge!!  Already 40-50 lbs.  Once a week I bathe him because if it is muddy, dirty or foul he will find it and cover himeself.  Since it is cold outside I can not bathe him outside.  He hates getting bathe, but has no problems playing in the muddy ditch. So he gets in the shower.  I put my bathing suit and get in there with him for a better grip on him.  I just got down scrubbing his front half and was turing him around to bath the back half.  I had my back to the curtain and slipped and dog and I fell backwards out the shower.  My bathroom is not that big and my back and head hit the sick cabinet and landed on my bum pretty hard.  Scared the crap out of Romeo.  LOL.  I was OK though, but no shower rod now.

I finished bathing him and got him out.  After bathing him I always clean my tub and shower at that time and then shower myself.  No Rod, no shower.  Only option is the tub.  Could never take bathes because of my size.  So I got in the tub with no problems and had my first bath in years!!!  It was nice.  I just need a bigger tub because of my dang long legs.

OMG!  You poor thing!  I have a 5 month old Shiba Inu (he's a little guy at 18 pounds) and let me tell you.....he could do the same thing with his squirminess.  In fact, he is SO over-dramatic that I take him to Petsmart to get his nails cut and I kid you not...they hear him screaming throughout the entire store.  People come to the back to see who's leg has been cut off.

Gotta love them, but I sometimes wonder where the "man's best friend" thing came from.....

The thing is, he didn't cause it. LOL  I keep his collar on while I am bathing him and have a good grip if he takes a run for it and then I strattle him so I can get his legs and paws really good.  I had him by the collar and was turning him around (this is the point he will make a run for it) and I just lost my footing. I am just a klutz.  That is so funny about his nail trimmings.  Romeo is the same way.  I take him there once a month, my sister is a groomer there and I get free service during the week as a family dog.  I also have a Chiuahuah.  Now you want to talk about dramatic.  I can not even take her out of the house, she is so weird.  So my sis will come over and do her nails for me.  Both her and her husband holds this barely 5lb dog to clip her nails.  And she screams, I do mean cry or yelp, I mean a scream.  Then she comes running to me and hides.

Oh I har ya....my female Shiba is SO bad that after she was fixed, I took her to the vet to have the sutures removed.  The tech took her in the back and we could ALL hear her screaming.  I thought - Holy Sh*t!".

The tech brings her out...hands me the leash and says "ANOTHER Oscar winning performance" - hahaha.

Shibas are KNOWN for being over-dramatic.  It's hysterical.  And my little guy is right on target - hahaha!

He's even over-dramatic with my female.  Makes my heart hurt - hahaha.

HA!!  that is to funny!  I tell you as dramatic my chi is, it makes for an interedting household.  It is hard for me to hear her scream, beauce you think they are in real pain.  I have even gotten her to sing for me with her screaming/howling.  It is so funny.  She goes nuts. I bet with the two in your house, there is never a dull momement.

Oh my goodness that was quite a bath for the dog!  I'm glad you only came away with a few bumps and a sore butt.  TOTALLY WOW on taking a bath!  Maybe you can do a bathroom remodel one day and get a super long tub for those gorgeous long legs of yours!  :)

Thanks!!  Yeah, I think I have some nice bruises forming uo back there.  Ouch. LOL  I think it would have been a lot worse if I was 160lbs heavier.  Bad part, there is not as much cushion anymore. ; )  I am hoping to buy a new house in the fall, a must I realized last night, a nice big tub.

Hi Melissa,
Glad to know that you were not injured when falling in the tub. Bubble baths are awesome. Enjoy the me time, when you can.
