What Are YOU Doing ToMove Today???
WOW! It's chilly out there! Oh well....time to rise and shine - get those cobwebs off of us and get to moving.
Did you know that women who suffer drom PMW often have low levels of beta endorphines? Being active can increase those endorphine levels as well as reduce stress (which is also associated with PMS).
So...what are YOU doing to move today???
Me? Well, after my adventure with the OT yesterday I am DEFINATELY stretching today. So, I'm going to do 30 minutes of cardio on the treadmill and then a yoga dvd for some strength training and flexability training. Gotta get those muscles stretched.
Enjoy your day and stay warm and dry!

So I run like a Girl....now keep up!
I use 1 song to warm up and stretch before heading out to run. I like to use a song that has a bit of a beat to it and I march in place, do some kicks, move my arms, etc. (aerobic dancing stuff)and then when the song is finished, (about 3 - 4 minutes) I do a series of stretches (hamstring, hip flexor, triceps, cat stretches, etc. I hold about 5 - 10 counts per body part). So, between the song and stretches, it takes me about 6 or 7 minutes before I actually start out.
I do this because it's important to NOT stretch cold muscles. Therefore the marching in place give my legs a chance to warm up before I stretch them. Plus, this allows me to start my workout right away.
Now, of course, if I'm at the gym, I don't do all of that. I use the bike or the ellipticle to warm up and then do my stretches.
Once I finish, I use a slow song to cool down. I slow walk, or slow move to get my heart rate back down. Once the song is finished, I use another slow song to do my stretches. I do slow stretches when I fini**** helps me relax. I take deep breaths. I take about 10 minutes to cool down, between my song and stretches.
I know that it seems like a lot of time to add onto your workout, but stretching is important and is a great way to keep injury free. I run, kickbox, spin class, hike and other high intensity stuff that really beats up my body....this keeps me flexible so I can do those things and heal properly.
Good luck!

Thankful for the easy, grateful for the hard & hopeful for tomorrow.
Yesterday and today included much walking, which is also improving the knee.
When at the store, I try to park as far as I can from the store. Three times a week I head to the gym for physical therapy, whi*****ludes working out on the machines
Beginning January 5th PT will be reduced to two times a week. On Fridays I will begin working out on my own, incorporating PT exercises and the machines.
Wish me luck,
Cindy
