Sounds like you had a great time yesterday.  Yep...they are called nesting dolls.  I have a few and love them.  Keep going on the house work and let me know if you are doing anything else...I have great connections in the business.  My uncle owns a GC company.  We are making our wish list for home upgrades to be accomplished in '09.

Nesting dolls!  Thanks - once you said I was like like "RIGHT!"  :)

What kind of upgrades are you looking to do this year?  We are excited to get a few things done ourselves.  So far my list (still) includes flooring, we just needed to feel more comfortable with the purchase, so we are saving a bit more for that so we can get waht we really want vs what we can afford.  And we plan to replace the hanging lighting fixtures - we have a ceiling fan and two hanging lights in the vaulted kitchen/dining/living room that are really outdated.  And we would like to add a ceiling fan in the bedroom.  While we had the plumber here we got a quote on replacing all of that in addition to some outdoor fixtures (he is also an electrician).  That among all the other things I'm considering, this should be a good year for the house to get primped and gussied.  I figure we need to do these things now before we have the added expense of a wee one.  :)

We are planing on replacing the carpet throughout the entire house (we have it...just need to buy padding and find the time for Steve to install it), redo the kitchen floor, put up some new cabinets in the kitchen (I want to add two or three), paint the house throughout with all new colors and hopefully get replacement windows.  This is in addition to getting a new stove that I want!  Thankfully Steve can and will do most everything and what he does not do...my uncle will.  We will do things a little at a time and save for each thing.  I am NOT going to go into debt todo anything.  We have quite a bit saved...but not the time yet.  It will come when the time is right.  Since Steve is a painter we get the paint for free.  I may have him take a week off before Froggy is born and do a lot of stuff so that she is not home when he is trying to do everything!  I have connections all over when it comes to getting work done..let me know if you are doing other things!

Welcome to 2009!!!
This morning began with a 4 hour shift at work. This was the first day back with the residents of the group home. The residents seems happy to see me again. The group home lost two long term residents this year, which makes things uncertain for them. One resident passed away in July and the other moved to a home that meets her health needs. One of the residents and myself took a walk in the neighborhood. He enjoys the outdoors and I need the exercise.
As I am working part time, I won't return to wor****il Tuesday. Then it will be three, eight hour days.
After work I came home to relax and check the computer. Soon I'll head to the store for movies and some groceries.
Tomorrow will include a physical therapy session and a gathering at a friend's house. For the gathering, I need to bring something Mexican and a gift for an exchange.  Got to think of an easy recipe. Any ideas?
The remainder of the weekend will include working a UVA basketball game and going to church. Will hit the gym, as well.
Enjoy the first weekend of the new year!!!
     Peace to you!!!

Enjoy your time!  Glad you got in some exercise...great way to start off 2009.  As for a mexican dish...how about lean ground beef with taco seasoning sprinkled over baked nachos with low fat cheese, sour cream and tomato's?  We make it here frequently and all love it.  I am getting ready to settle in and watch a movie, too.  Enjoy!
