Oh my! Who is your insurance company? You can and should appeal and if not then check the papers you signed for the doctors office! I can't imagine that!

did you get this worked out, without paying??? This is devasting and my heart goes out to you. What doctor and hospital did you go to............... I have just received my bill and it is crazy.......... I was told that I was approved and I have the rider.... Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.....
To hear your plight is horrible and very scarry for us all. Are you self pay if I may ask????? If not do you have insurance.... I cannot invision this happening to any of us, what can we do??? I just ran into this area of the board today and it must be a "GOD" Sent thing, because I thought I was the only one to be facing this medical bill issue/issues. I have BC/BS insurance, along with the obesity rider. I was told I was approved for the surgery and now I have un-paid bills close to $$$50,000. I am terrified, who has money like this to pay for a surgery that is suppose to only be $$12,000 for self-pay people. We were told that insurance people, that would be held overnight, could see cost of $$18,000 of which insurance would cover if you were approved. So what has happened.?? We all would have opted for 1$2,000 rather than the bills we have gotten I am sure if we would have known this. What has happened to you thus far..................
Of course, the bills that I have received are not final and are just for me. I have a daughter that just had it done back in Nov. before i got my first bill or we would have had to wait..... I cannot afford a 100,000 worth of medical bills. This can ruin your life in many ways........ I am really upset about all of this, I am trying to remain positive during the holidays, but this is lingering over me and makes it difficult. The surgery will save my life in many ways,but if i have a heart attack over stressing for the bills I never dreamed of having then what good is the surgery. I say this "jokingly" but really I am dead serious. I bought the rider program to overcome the financial burden, that Americans can face because of medical treatment. I have been told to wait till after x-mas and then get back with the hosptial and insurance company. I will be praying for both you and me as well as others that may be experiencing the same issues.
Can you bring some peace of mind to our plight...........Any help is truly appreciated.
