Surgery was Monday and now I'm home!  Everything went great and so far so good.  I am having a terrible time getting protein shakes made with milk down, so for now I'm drinking the kind made with water.  Other thank "unjury", do you guys have any suggesstions? things that you really liked right after surgery?

I'm going to have to get a ticker, because I've already lost 15 lbs from the liquid only diet!

Congratulations and welcome to the losers bench!  I am so happy for you.

Right after surgery all we could have was carnation instant breakfast made with 1/3 cup of nonfat powdered milk and 8 oz of skim milk to = 20 grams of protein.  This was all we could consume for two weeks!  We had 4 shakes per day.  After that I tried many...unjury, nectar, isopure.  The ones for me were the ready to drink ones.  They are more expensive but did not have that gritty flavor.  And...if you buy from Vitamin Shoppe or GNC and do not like then you can return the unused portion for a full refund!  Now I prefer EAS Advantage RTD chocolate from Wal-Mart.

Good luck!

Welcome home and welcome to the loser bench!!  I can not do the milky protien drinks.  They make me nausated.  So i do the water based ones.  I use nectar for my water based protien intake and RTD Acheive one.

Welcome home!  I used Nectar as my staple early on.  I also used Isopure powders.  But everyone's taste is different.  Now I don't really care for them!  :)  So something you like now, you may not like in 6months.  Thankfully there are SO many choices out there!  Good luck.

Will you be joining us this weekend for the hospital shindig.  I know it's early out, but if you can make it I would love to see you and give you a big hug for being a new post-op!  :)

I am glad that your are home and everything went great for you. I can't drink the shakes so I am no help there.  Tammy and the others give great advice on the shakes.
Welcome home.

Welcome home!  Glad things went well for you.  Fresh out of surgery, I used the Ispoure RTDs -- they come in multiple flavors, and I was able to tolerate them COLD.  Everyone is different.  I would suggest getting samples and trying them out to see what works best for you.  :)

Welcome home! Glad surgery went well. Its not easy to get our protein needs taken care of initially but with time you'll get better and better. Initially I drank CIB's (Carnation Instant Breakfast) No Sugar Added and added 1/3 cup non-fat dry milk. Eventually I tried pretty much everything between powders and liquids. I have never been able to truly deal with the powders but in times when I've not had either the money or my choices have been out I've used them. Now I drink EAS AdvantEDGE RTD Carb Control in chocolate (when I can get them) and they work the best for me. I've also done well with AchievOnes and no longer purchase them due to availability and pricing. All best!
