OMG! How did you do this so quickly??? I was about to come on here & share when lo & behold, not only did you beat me to it, but look at the responses!!! I am just blown away by ya'll. Thank you ever so much for your love & support. Of course I feel compelled to point out that I don't do any of this for personal recognition...this whole mission is not EVEN about me, or politics, or any of that stuff...it's about my "sons". THEY are the driving force behind all this.
Mike asked me recently how long was I intending to do this? That really got me to thinking about it. At first, I just intended to take care of THESE guys. But now, how can I stop? When they leave Afghanistan in June, there will be replacements who will be in just the same needy situation as my current guys. So, I guess my family will continue to grow. As long as there are US citizens over there, wearing those funny outfits, & doing what they do everyday for us, then I guess my mission will continue. Of course, I may be in the poor house by then, but as long as there's gas in my truck, & breath in my body, I gotta keep doing this. Like I keep saying...it's the best love job I've ever had.
Thanks to all of YOU for your support, whether it be ca****ems, CARDS & CIDER MIX, or prayers. You help me keep my determination going forward & I love you all the more for it.
I must give special recognition to some of our sisters, since they didn't get THEIR mention in the article...Christina, Caroline, Lauren, Cindy, Lindsay & Ashley & Penny...Cindy's "elves"...on behalf of my boys, thank you for your generosity. And to the rest of you, those prayers are of the utmost importance, but then we all know that already cuz we use them for each of us as well. All I ask is that we keep my boys, & ALL the men & women that are serving this country of ours in our thoughts & prayers. Believe me...they ask for prayers just as much as they ask for "stuff." I let them know, everytime I send them a box or a letter, that we are all keeping them safe in our hearts.
Ok, I need to stop now before I start blubbering. I love you all. I love my boys!
