Home from the hospital

I will NEVER go to Memorial Regional Hospital EVER again. They put my feeding tube in with NO pain medicine. It was the worst pain I have ever felt in my life. They then rolled me in recovery and told me to get dressed and ready to go as soon as I got in there. I got up and almost collapsed from the pain. I was walking down the hall and the nurse asked if I was ok. I told her I was in pain. She yelled for someone to get a gurney. She said my face went white, my legs where shaking from the pain and almost fell. They finally gave me a shot of something for pain and sent me on my way. It was the worst experience in my life. I am in tears with pain and they gave me no pain medicine to deal with this. I called my dr and they are getting me something, but I was so upset with my treatment.

And then they wanted to put stitches in my stomach to hold feeding tube. I told them they did not have permission to do it. I had no pain meds. My stomach was killing me. The last thing I was going to have happen is someone stitching my belly with no numbing. What a day!

You have really had a tough time of it, Brooke.  I hope you are okay...you're in my thoughts and prayers!

  Sorry you were treated without pain meds prior to and following the procedure.
  I hope that you will voice your complaint with the hospital patient  services. Treatment like you experienced is inhumane and against your rights as a patient. Perhaps your surgeon can stand behind you on this.

Wow Brooke.  I am so sorry you are having to go through this.  I am gld you doc is calling it in, but it is awful to have go through this without the proper care.  Take it easy and relax.

I'm sorry that it was like that.  Wi**** could have been a bit better.  Couldn't they use pain meds BEFORE doing the procedure????

I am glad you were able to get feeding tube put back in but that is just unethical!!!  I would report their butts and have something done about it.. Or you can tell me the *******s names and i'll stalk them and slash their tires!!

Thanks everyone. Yeah I am going to report it. I am doing so much better today though. I think those prayers are working. I am just so glad yesterday is over! Happy Thanksgiving!

Hey Brooke girl, sorry to hear you are still having so many problems and my thoughts and prayers coming your way big time. I don't blame you for not going to that hosp ever again. I just can't imagine having what you had done with no pain medicine. I hope you are doing better today---take care. Jim
