6 month check-up...

Well I am officially 6 months out and saw Dr. Mann today. I really had no idea how different things are for me with the sleeve as opposed to the RNY. I have no issues with absorption, sugar, really not much of anything. I can and do overeat occasionally, but not like before. My iron is low, as usual, and my vitamin D is low too, but otherwise I am right on track. I am down 40% of my excess body fat, and he is happy with my weight loss. I thought for sure he would be mad at me for not losing more, but he said that I will lose slower with the sleeve, so Whoo Hooo! I celebrated by going to taco bell for lunch and promptly got sick. I guess you live and learn. I need to celebrate some other way, that is for sure.
Off the subject, I have been away for a while, is Kat ok? I was looking for a post saying what is going on, but I couldnt find it. If you are reading this, Kat, thanks for all the help, you were always there when I needed to talk. I hope you are ok. Have a wonderful holiday my fellow losers Lisa

Congrats on the six month checkup! Sounds like you are doing wonderfully. Keep up the good work. As for Kat...she will be back when she can. She is ok and will fill people in when she is ready. I speak to her daily and she knows we are all here for her and parying for her. I will let her know you asked about her!

That is so awesome. Isn't strange that even though we know we shouldnt celebrate with food, but still do sometimes. I wonder if that will be forever, or if one day it will click. Congrats on the visit

I still celebrate with foods...just healthy ones now! Sometimes I celebrate with shopping, too! WE have to take what we can get, right? I just love any excuse/reason to shop!

Lisa - sounds you have done a good job losing body fat! How many pounds did you lose so far?

It is hard not to celebrate with food because it is usually such instant gratification - next time maybe give yourself a gift of something that you have wanted for a while and plan your success rewards - easy to say and hard to do I know.... but Taco Bell is not it lol!
