You'll have to forgive me, I did not book mark the post that was asking for protein ideas, but I did vow to let you know when I found out the name of that really good protein I tried once. Thanks Rebekah (Rebekah0810) for sending me samples back in the day and giving me the name again!

Smart For Me was BY FAR, the best tasting and best texture protein powder I have ever tasted. It was smooth and the powder seemed to melt into the water. And the flavor was YUMMO - I tried the Peach Mango. I definately recommend! In fact it was so good I'm going to finally try the second sample I have, just in case things have changed for me (I had a lactose reaction the first go around). You never know! :) Oh and notice that the serving is only 70 calories for 15 grams of protein. This is very good compared to other powders out there!

I gave up on powders. If I can just grab it and go then I am great...I do not have the time to mix things. I love my RTD!

thanks Lauren. I am going to head over there and look now. I will need protein when I am off the tube feedings. I have been trying stuff here and there and cant stand anything I have tried so far.

I find that I prefer fruity drinks and they have several to choose from. It's so tired that most powders and almost all RTD's come only in Chocolate, Vanilla or Strawberry.

yes. If I have one more chocolate protein powder that is like chalk I want to scream. Fruity seems wonderful. Is the consistency like a crystal light or is it thicker?

If I remember correctly, once mixed is is not see thru/clear like crystal lite. So it would be a bit thicker than straigh****er. But not as thick as say chocolate milk. If you've done nectar it would be very similar to that except no grit. That's the only think I don't like about Nectar.

There are tons of fruity drinks that are NOT RTD and not chocolate, strawberry or vanilla. I happen to prefer the chocolate one but I also drink isopure and a few other brands of fruity ones from Vitamin Shoppe. You just have to be willing to get out there and look for them. I prefer NOT to pay shipping until I know I like the product. Plus, Vitamin Shoppe has an awesome return policy!

For fruity drinks I'm tried all the Nectar flavors, come of the Isopure (powder) flavors and Smart For Me. For RTD, I only know of the Isopure bottled and bullets. I have looked at everything in vitamin Shoppe a time of two. GNC has a poor seslection overall. And I'm just like you unless I can get a sample, I don't like to order tubs of anything online. It was awesome that Vitalady had every single flavor of Nectar available in samples. That really saved me some money. There is only one Nectar that I can stand enough to drink. It's the Nectar Naturals Orange. It's gritty though, no matter if you you a blender ball, blender or what.

Thankfully, I'm having to rely of supplementation less because I eat most of my protein. I was so surprised when I journaled recently to look at a couple of my sample days of food. I ended up being able to cut out the protein bar I was doing. I was meeting my protein goals and just added unnecessary calories. I do like to use them though when I am on the go during lunch time as a meal replacement.

Do you do any protein bars for your protein? Or do you only drink your protein?

I eat most of my protein, too. I get in 120 grams + every day, especially now. I drink 2 shakes a day as snacks by choice...not because I need the protein from them. It is just an added boost to me to make sure that I am getting all that I need. I occassionally do protein bars but prefer not to. Most of them taste nasty to me and I just don't like the texture of them.

Go to Vitamin Shoppe at Va Center Commons (I could meet you there on Monday evening if you wanted)...go to the left to the cold case where they have individual bottles and there is a nice selection of them there. They are not cheap...but yummy and a great source of protein. I never liked Nectar either.

Which individual bottles are you talking about (brand I mean?) If it's the clear fruity isopure, I've tried them all. I loved them in the beginning but then they started tasting metallic to me. I'm going to PM you some questions about your plan now with the baby. I've been meaning to.. :)
