Hospital Stay
Hi! I had my lap RNY on a Wednesday and came home on a Saturday. I was in a day or 2 longer than normal because the day after my surgery, I was moved to ICU due to sugars in excess of 600. Once they got them down and stable, I was moved back and everything was back to normal.

It does depend on open or lap and your surgeons requirements. My surgeon requires a 2 night stay for open (he does not do lap at all) and I stayed 3 nights because I was going to be about 90 minuites away from the hospital when I left. I went to stay with my aunt so I would have constant care and she was a post op herself.
