Hungry and fullnes
Just make sure you are measuring everything. With your stomach still healing you will not feel hunger or fullness. It is so strange. Just stick to what you are told to do, and you will be fine. Hope your feeling good.

Ken,
Your nerve ending have not even come close to healing and you will not feel full yet. Also, it can be up to 18 months before you feel hunger. For me it was almost 2 years. During that time food repulsed me and the smell made me ill. The thought of it made me gag. I did (and sometimes still do) have to force myself to eat. At your stage I was consuming about 1 ounce and graduated up to 2 ounces at about 4 months. Now at 3.5 years out...I eat between 4-6 ounces. This also depends on what you are eating as well. For example...eggs will condense down a lot farther than chicken will so eventually you could eat two eggs but maybe only an ounce or two of meat. Talk with Irene at the support group. She has great info on this!

Life could not get any better than this!
hey Ken. I am still fairly early out, am 6 1/2 months out as of now but still do not get hungry. Because of low blood sugars, I have to eat a bit more often than most and because I do not have the hunger pains, I have to set my cell phone to remind me times to eat, which is every 2 hrs and no more than 3 hrs between eatings. I have even heard of those farther out that don't have the hunger pains still.
I am not sure when it was that I began to feel the full feeling as opposed to the heaviness in my tummy area or the tightness in my chest. Most of the times, still, those are the feelings that I still get and that's when I stop eating. Usually, I am signaled by a chain of REALLY loud hiccups and I know that the heaviness will come within the next bite or 2 and then I'm done.
I'm not really sure about the quantity of food that you should be consuming. Jeannine has always told me to stop when I get those "full" feelings. For me, at 6 months out, I get about 2 ounces in at a time. To some, that may not seem like enough but I do eat more often than some others, (again, as directed by my nutritionist and surgeon's office). But please don't take my word as gospel as I still have some issues with being scared of food and am working with someone on that. I'd call Jeannine if you have questions or concerns or just need reassurance.
By the way. You are doing awesome. Congratulations on your success so far.
