How many times a day do y'all eat?

I know we're suppose to eat 3 times a day, but I've been hearing of some WLS people eating 5 to 6 times (small meals) a day.

How many times do y'all eat a day?  And is that including a liquid protein?

Everyone is different and of course you should do what your surgeon and nutritionist say. But for me personally, I am required to eat every 2 hrs with no more than 3 hrs between eating. I have to eat 3 "normal" meals and healthy snacks in between. I have to do this, for now at least, because while I was an insulin dependant diabetic before WLS, I now suffer from what they call reactive hypoglycemia. So they want me to eat a little something every so often to keep my sugar from dropping to far. I do have a protein drink in the morning, as my morning snack, usually about 2 hrs or so after breakfast.

For me, this is hard. I tend to find myself feeling guilty about eating so much, or well so often but it is the only thing that is working with keeping my sugars stable. So I just have to really try to make the best choices, especially with regards to the snacks.

I hope you find the answers you are looking for. Good luck!

I am bit of a crazy case. I have a feeding tube, so its different for me. I have 4 cans of food a day through the tube and usually 1 small meal and a couple snacks. remember most of the food I put in mouth usually does not stay there. lol

I do 5-6 small meals to keep my blood sugars stable and my metabolism boosted.  I also have two protein shakes as well.  But as always...follow your own surgeons protocal and if you have a question and thing you should make a change then check with them!

I eat whenever I am hungry!    I don't eat a lot in one sitting (unless its my cycle!!)  and I weigh daily to keep things in check.   I try to stick to lean protein and veggies with healthy carbs... but I dont do low fat... i use real butter and I enjoy the taste of my food more than ever.     at nearly 4 yrs out I have learned the diff between head hunger and actual hunger.... but sometimes give in to the head hunger.      Then, there are times when I wont have a meal (at meal time) because I am NOT hungry....but I always try to keep hydrated.      It works for me... I am a couple of pounds below goal, and happy with it... (now if only i could tone!)
