Hey ya'll,
Just wanted to let everyone know that I am approved for my surgery and will meet with my surgeon on the 20th to set a date and get my blood gases and work up done.  I'm very excited and can hardly wait.  I'm hoping for an early date in December.  Can anyone who's had Lap-band tell me what the recovery time is before you went back to work?  My boss and I were discussing it tonight and looking at my return to work.

I am sorry that I would be no help on the recovery time for the lap band but I wanted to congratulate you on the approval and wish you the best of luck with everything!  I know you will do fantastic.  It is time for a celebration!  I am very happy for you!

Congratulations on getting approved - I have heard that recovery time is only a week or so and no heavy lifting for a while but my advice to you would be to take as much time as you think you can get to get rested and used to the new eating regime.... that can take longer than the actual surgery recovery...

Good luck and keep us posted...

I know you are excited. I hope everything goes well for you. It has not been that bad at all for me. I actually had Open surgery on Monday, came home on Thursday and back to work on Monday (light duty)

Counting the 2 week liver shrinking diet, I have lost 46 pounds in 4 weeks and can't keep my pants up even after adding a hole in the belt.

good luck.
