Hello Everyone,

Im just beginning the process for the RY surgery. I have KP insurance and its a 6 month process to get approved for the surgery.

I have so many mixed emotions about the sugery, but I konw it is the right choice. Has anyone else here used KP. How long after final approval does it take to actually have the surgery. hat doctor did you use?

Good AM.  I will be no help on the insurance front but I wanted to welcome you and wish you luck.  We are here if you need us.  I used Dr. Hutcher here in Richmond...totally awesome and the most wonderful man I can think of for surgery.  Your day will be here before you know it.

Good Am to you also. You lost 260 ilbs. WOW!! that is great and you look great. Did you have alot of loose skin? If so what did you do to tighten it up?

Thanks!  Yep...I am gaining some back now with being preggers but I am confidant that I can lose it all once I give birth.  I think we all have lose skin.  It is just a matter of how we chose to deal with it.  I am OK with most if it since I can cover it.  I am not happy with my tummy because it causes bad rashes and my thighs make my knees hurt from previous injuries...but working out and using a good toning lotion (I have a special kind that I use and it has heloped tremendously) really works.  Wear your lose skin as a badge of honor...until you can have plastics if that is what you want!  It really isn't that bad!

Good luck with the process.  I can't really help with the insurance question, but I used Dr. Amir Moazzez at Fair Oaks Hospital and he was wonderful.  I would suggest finding an informational seminar to attend and then scheduling a consult with the surgeon.  My surgeon's office was able to deal with the insurance company directly for me and they will be able to give you a timeline better then anyone else.  I left my consult with my surgery scheduled for two months later, so it can go pretty quickly.

Having mixed emotions is perfectly normal.  My emotions changed hourly at some points pre-op, but now, its the best thing I ever did for myself.

We are all here if you need anything or have more questions!
