When you have clear expectations about how you want your post-WLS life to work, you will benefit greatly. Develop a detailed vision of how your life as a healthy person must look if you are to succeed. Who will you spend time with? What will you eat? How will you avoid unhealthy foods?   The people around you will be able to support you better if you are clear. For example, as the spouse or friend of a WLS patient, it's hard to be supportive if the patient admonishes all desserts one day and brings home a bag of cookies the next.   Action for the day: Do you have a clear vision of how your life needs to be established if you are to succeed at WLS? Spend some time today visualizing your ideal, healthy life. Write down your ideas in your journal.   © 2007, National Association for Weight Loss Surgery. All rights reserved.
