3 - 4 per day, but I think that is only to acheive 60gms + of protein.

I think someone already suggested it, but if you are trying to get more protein in you can add evaporated milk.  Just make sure that's okay with your surgeon.  :)  I haven't tried that because I'm lactose intolerant and I don't believe they evaporate lactose free milk.  LOL.  I drink 2-3 servings of milk each day myself as a way to get in my protein.

Our surgeons office does not recommend evaporated milk.  We were told to use 1/3 cup of nonfat powdered milk with 1 pack of CIB and mix with 8 oz of skim milk.  This is equal to 20 grams of protein per shake.  Could you try that or is it the same?  Thankfully I am not lactose intollerant so it never bothered me!

I always assumed evaporated milk was powdered milk because evaporated means to take the moisture our of.  I ended up having to call my mom on that one since I've never looked for the stuff.  She said she thinks it comes in a can and is like a heavy cream.  That is the most ridiculous thing, why the heck do they call it evaporated?  Learn something new every day.  I guess powdered milk was what everyone has been talking about all the time and I never knew what the crap was.  I doubt it comes in lactose free for myself.

Yep, evaporated milk comes in a can.  I use it for baking and such, sometimes in my coffee if I am out of creamer or regular skim milk.  It is not thick like heavy cream...that is sweetened condensed milk.  It is not very expensive...you should get some and try it.

Hey Tammy! This is what I do. I use Carnation Powdered milk, 1 & 3/4 cup 1% milk and 1 packet of no sugar added CIB. Although I can only do the chocolate. I do find that as long as I do this, I never have a problem with my protein. But I am DEFINITELY going to try your idea about freezing the CIB!!! Thanks so much!
