So sad,They say all surgery will be delayed? Kinda Long

Just spoke with PNH and was told they are closing down all but 2 OR rooms for the last two weeks of December to renovate and would not be doing hardly any WLS during that time. This means I will be January or later, and my boss said they could only "spare me" in December. I am the only one who does my job and being WLS is elective, they don't have to approve it if it isn't convenient for them. I spoke with Ms Boone who said that she would make a note of that, but there are lots of folks on the list ahead of me (I'm done with my preop requirements).
I'm not on my employers insurance, and I'm never sick ( not allowed, they call you all day at home anyway) so having the surgery to improve my health doesn't really benefit them.

January and Feb are always busy, busy months for me and I just don't want to have to wait till April or May......... someone say something to cheer me up. I'm sick about this.

Thanks.

I am sorry you may have to wait.  I know you may not want to hear what I am going to say...but I am always blunt and to the point, so here goes.  Please read this with an open mind...I know it does not make things any easier.

I am going on my personal experience here:

I tried to have WLS three years before I was actually approved.  I had medicaid and was told with my health issues that I could/would be approved in no time.  Well...I was DENIED.  I did not fight.  I did not know my rights and that I could/should appeal the decision.  I just looked at it (after many, many tears and screaming fits) that God said it was not the right time.  When I tried again I was approved in hours.  I knew that God had his hands on me and was telling me now was the time in my life.

If you having to wait...maybe it is God saying this is not a good time for you.  He knows what He is doing.  Your time WILL come and you WILL be ready.  I kowi t is hard...but we are all here for you.  Big Hugs!

Thanks Tammy, you take care of y ourself and little "frogger" ( you need a more feminine name for her now.... how about froggette? I am just so mad at my employer, that they would be so selfish.... I know if it was a director or higher, it would be no problem.

Oh well, no choice but to wait and see what happens!.

Thanks for your thoughts.

I do feel your frustration.  One of my friends used to work here with me and had WLS.  Well, she got her TT approved and then could not get the time off from work because it was elective surgery.  She ended up losing her job before she could get it approved therefore she fought and went thru the appeals for nothing.  You sound like your job is solid and your performance is good.  Your time WILL come soon.

Froggette sounds good.....going to change siggy line.  Actually, hubby and I have been saying Froggy lately...so I guess we both knew deep down inside!

Just don't give up!  This is one of the best blessings of God, and I know you are meant to have it also.

Try not to get too discouraged.  Hopefully the surgery center can move things around for you.  Let us know if you get good news on a date before the renovation.
