Help...I'm stuck!

Hi Everyone,

It's been a while since I've been here.  I totally stop losing weight...as a matter of fact I've gained 15 lbs.

I totally crave something crunchy in the evenings, that's why I gained the 15 lbs. popcorn or pretzel with peanut butter was my downfall.  I am working on those 2 habits though!

I getting depressed because I know I'm eating more (amounts) than I should.  I can eat anywhere from 6 to 8 oz. at one setting.  And - YES - I know I should be exercising but I don't!  I do plan on starting now that my broken toe (in 2 places) is healing very well.

How about drinking  30 minutes right before & right after eating?  Can my stomach ever smaller again?

Any suggestions?

Anastasia

Glad you are posting again and that you came here for help.  You have been given a tool that only you can make work for you.  Mine still works at 3 1/2 years post op.  Yes, you need to measure your food and go back to the basics.  You can eat at least 6 ozunce now, easily, but should be measuring to make sure you are not having more in one setting.  You know that you should not be drinking 30 minutes before or after a meal.  It is hard, but it will help you to stay full longer.  Yes to the exercise...even if it is just walking.  Do something to get your heart rate up.  If you want something crunchy  go for an apple or some baked wheat thins.  It is the perfect time of year to get the apples!  I know it is hard and you are at the point where these things happen.  Try and remember...you are not a failure.  Most WLS patients regain about 10-20 pounds from their lowest weight.  You CAN do this.  We are here to help you!

Thanks Tammy,

I sure did need to hear those words of wisdom.  And you're right, I can do this...I did it before!

I'm definately going back to weighing my food...I think that'll help me out a great deal.

Good am,

Get back to basics as soon as possible! TODAY works! Water, protein, writing down everything that enters your mouth, measuring foods, pre-planning meals, getting exercise incoporated back into your days, finding a waking/exercise partner (REALLY helps) and more. Keep posting here! Its a truly helpful resource.

All best!

You've been given some great advice already, so i have nothing to add.

BUT....I did want to commend you for coming out.  Often times, people struggle in silence because they are embarrassed.  There is NOTHING to be embarrassed about, and you have actually taken the hardest step...acknowledging that you had an issue and needed help.

We are here to support you!
