What Are YOU Doing To Move Today???
What a glorious day before us. Great to be alive. I know...it's chilly out there, but feel the cool crisp air....take it in......
Did you know that exercise is a GREAT way to reduce stress? It decreases stress hormones, like cortisol, and increases endorphins (the feel good hormone); it creates a distraction from your stressed thoughts. During the period of time you are exercising, you are thinking about the workout and not about the stresser, and by exercising in feel good areas (like the park, a scenic mountain, etc.) it really removes you from the stresser; it will help you look good, which is ALWAYS a stress reliever; it can give you the opportunity to socialize with others who have a common interest (the exercise itself). For example, if you take kickboxing class and enjoy it, you have an opportunity to meet others in the class and have something in common with them; and lastly, it may even make you resilient to stress.
So, with the holidays coming up, now is the perfect time to start reducing the stress in our lives - before it becomes too much. Start an exercise program that gets you moving each day. Hey...if nothing else...it will give you an excuse to have time to yourself to plan your holiday plans, or to leave your mother-in-law with the family. No...she CANNOT come to kickboxing class with you....and YES...there WILL be a class on Thanksgiving morning at 800am when she's complaining that you aren't cooking the turkey right (HAHA).
So....let's start practicing now. Let's get into the groove of stress reduction.
What are YOU doing to move today???
Me? Well, I had planned on today being a rest day, but I ended up resting on Monday (long story that ended very oddly), plus, I plan to have a small piece of cake today which means.......I'm running. A nice and easy 5 mile run to shake out the cobwebs and get the blood flowing. Gee...with everything else that I do, i haven't run in a while....will I still remember how? HAHA.
Until tomorrow.....Enjoy today!

Life could not get any better than this!
I hope you're both having a fantastic day!
I started on my Wii Fit again yesterday after neglecting my daily exercise for too long to mention -
Can I just say, I LOVE boxing! The yoga is good for warming up and cooling down, and the step arobics and hula hoops are pretty nice to get the blood pumping - but the Boxing is just fantastic! It kicked my ass to do 9 minutes and it felt awesome -
I got myself some exercise clothes at Target yesterday (they were on sale, so I got one pair of yoga pants and two sport bras) and I got a 2X! And they fit! Now, don't get me wrong - NO ONE wants to see me in my exercise gear, but it really pumped me up and got me back into the swing of things yesterday, so I'm grateful -
I might throw a 5-10 minute jog into the mix today as well -
Ok...here's my thoughts on the exercise clothes. IF I have to workout...damnit...I'm gonna look cute doing it. No sloppy clothes for me. So...rock on wearing your yoga pants and sports bra!
