I came home SATURDAY afternoon. I didn;t have the best surgery exp either. My surgery was set for 10am thursday morning. There were  4 Bariatric patients waiting for surgery and I was the last one.Well they finally put me under about 10:30am. When I wake up Ifind out that its 4:00pm.Come to find out that when they got me to the room their Lap machine didn;t work so they kept me asleep untill one of the other surgeries were done with theirs. (Don;t do well with sleeping meds) When They finally finish me they can;t find a machine to put my iv on and my morphin . All the ones they had were broken. So granted..Pain was soo bad. My chest felt like Iwa**** by a semi because i was under so long.

ICU room was heaven compared to the 4th floor. I had my own room. Only neg was the guy next to me scream because he was in pain. I felt so bad. 4th floor was okay because I knew the 4 girls in there and i got lucky with decent nurses. But when i got up there they had no bed for me. They were using 1/2 the room as a storage closet. So myself and theother patient had to wait for 2 beds to show up and someone tomove out the other things. I ran a fever of 100. all night. it took three doses of pain meds to finally get my comfortable tosleep.

I am so happy Iam home though. I have tried a tsp of food and it worked. Now I am just trying to stay hydrated and push this gas through.

thanks for all the nice e-mails.

Look at it this way: you don't have to ever go through that again!  What an adventure!  Just hope they didn't CHARGE you for all that annesthesia and OR time, if you really didn't NEED it.  Watch your bills carefully.

And welcome to the losers' bench!  Keep sipping, walking, and be kind to yourself.  If you feel like you want to take a nap -- TAKE THE NAP.  Listen to your body.

I look forward to hearing your upcoming WOWS

Good am Katherine,

Glad you're home and hope you're doing better this am. It sounds like you went through a rough ordeal but thankfully its over now and you are ready to move on in your journey. I don't do well with anesthesia AT ALL so I completely understand. I have marked issues coming out from under anesthesia. It throws off everything in my system. Hope your recovery continues to go smoothly. Keep us posted. PS - got your info and your added.

All best!

Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience at the hospital. You would think they would have things prepared when they know in advance they are having people in for surgeries. Oh well the good news is that you are home and doing good. Welcome to the losers bench. Take it easy and rest.
