I have heard that rice is not a good thing to eat for most of us. I'd like to hear some in put on this please. I do not eat starch away from home because it causes me to dump. I get every thing but  the poops. I mean I get so tired I have to lay down! So with this I eat very little starch and when I do it is at home.

Personally I do not eat rice - I fear it will make my pouch swell so I just don't eat it - I know there are people who eat white rice and brown rice (which is better for you) - but for me I do not. I also do not eat pasta or bread - for me it is just personal thing - I am an all or nothing type person and they would be triggers for me..... so I don't touch...

Just my opinion and how I live.......

I eat rice with no problems, but probably wouldn't if it bothered me.  Rice like bread is a personal choice.  Loris

I personally stay away from starches.  That was one of my trouble foods and feel it is best to just say no.  Also, I am not eating that much, and when I do eat, it is such a small amount that I capitlize on the foor that will provide me the nutrient I need.

I can not eat rice.  I get sick every time, so I stay away from it.  I do not dump, but it does swel in my pouch.  I do eat bread.  It is not only a personal choice but your body will let you know if you can handle it.

Ditto on what Jackie said -- don't eat it, bread or pasta.  I don't want it to cause any problems with my pouch by swelling.  :)

I eat rice....had problems with it early out but like most things, I can enjoy it in moderation when I choose too now.

I was told no rice at all. I can eat mash potatoes. But only 1/2 tbsp

The rice I eat is in VERY tiny amounts.  It swells horridly inside, and I can't enjoy anything else.  Depending on your surgery, it may or may not be appropriate.

Even the whole grains swell in me, and I just like to eat food too much!  So like, when I have sushi, I do it without the rice, or I suck the middle out of the rolls.

YMMV...

Oh I LOVE sushi.  I usually take 3-4 tolls and roll out the rice.  I can not beleive how much rice is compacted in those small rolls.  I actually think it taste better without the rice.
