I was huge! I never thought in a million years I would lose 100 pounds much less 167. I had my year appt with Dr Schirmer today and got some news that I am just trying to ponder and muddle through. He said over the next year that I will probably only lose another 30 pounds. I was kinda bummed to think that I had this surgery to still be 260, so just trying to wrap my mind around that. But he did tell me that I should be ready for plastics in 6 months which I wasn't ready for that either oh well just a lot to digest. Thanks for all the words of wisdom and encouragement!

Congratulatrions on your First Anniversary, Karen!!! By continueing your program and maybe with the loss of that loose skin, you could loose more than 30 pounds.
Either way, you look wonderful and keep up the good work.
Peace,
Cindy

Karen,

Congrats on your surgery results thus far.  I am excited for the progress that you have made.

Try and remember that what your surgeon goes by is an estimate of total body fat.  I was told I would be good to get to 200.  Well, I got down to 139 before getting pregnant.  It is all in what you do.  You have the power...vitamins+protein+water+exercise = weightlooss!  You are in control.  I wish you luck and I am here if you need anything.

Karen, I have watched your progress from the beginning and I am so very proud of what you have accomplished!!! ! It is amazing!  And don't pay too much attenton to what your doctor said - I have seen MANY people far exceed their doctor's conservative estimate   - sometimes they deliberately set them lower so you don't feel as if you have failed....

You really should not look at plastics until your weight has stabilized for about 6 montsh or so to get the best out of it.........

But you are doing just GREAT!!! Congratulations!

Congratulations, Karen, on doing so great!  Keep up the great work, and don't worry about projected weight loss.  What you have done is amazing, and I am sure it will continue!  :)

Congratulations on being a year out!

I'm going to back Tammy up here.... when I had surgery, my "goal weight" was 210. I blew that out of the water, and then all of the sudden, my "goal" was 155. Sure. Since that point, I really haven't put a whole lot of stock in the surgeon's "goal" weight. I'm almost positive that if I were to go in there at 154, he'd make me a "new" goal of 150.

So his goal is 155, and I stick around 160-165. Good enough for me.

I am positive that as long as you do as you're supposed to do, you'll far surpass your surgeons goal as well.

Also, if you have been taking photos regularly, keep it up now. I found that while I DID change a whole lot between years 0 and 1, it was between years 1 and 2 that I just CHANGED (esp. facial features). I guess it's something about the weight redistributing or something, but I wish I had taken more photos during that time.

Best of luck for another great year!
