WOW!!! I NEVER thought....

that I would have a normal A1-C. When I started this journery, in the summer of 2007, I was sent to the Diabetic Treatment Center, by my endocrinologist, for counseling and education on my diabetes. They tested my A1-C and it was over 14. The week before surgery, my endocrinologist tested it, during routine bloodwork and it was 13.7. I went to see them again, when I was approximately 3 months post op and it had dropped to under 8. I was so happy when she told me that if we could get it below 7, she would claim that the diabetes was in remission and controlled.

Well Monday, I went in for my follow up. She did bloodwork again. I called today for the results and found out that my A1-C is......... 6.0!!!! In 5 months, my A1-C has dropped more than 7 points. I now have a NORMAL A1-C!!!

I just can not believe how this surgery is such the life saver that it is. I went from taking a u500 insulin, which is one that is 5 times stronger than normal insulin, taking 1000 units a day and 4 daily shots to NOTHING. Absolutely nothing for my diabetes since the day I came home from the hospital! It is just amazing.

Thanks for letting me share!!
